Our beloved friend, Dixiecollie, is in treatment for cancer. She is starting a chemo drug regime that will likely last for over a year. Dixiecollie will be taking a very toxic drug, three weeks on, one week to rest from it, possibly for as long as fifteen months. It will be very harsh and she is likely to feel many shades of lousy but it is what she needs to do to be well.
Way back in 2006, at the very first Yearly Kos, my sister and I had patches available for signing for a quilt. It was signed by all sorts of people — including some famous people like Sen. Harry Reid, Amb. Joe Wilson, and Gen. Wesley Clark, to name a few. That quilt later was the focus of an Act Blue page to benefit a Democratic Sen. campaign.

Twingrace is a very kind and gentle person, as we who follow various community diaries know all too well. Therefore it is particularly saddening to learn that she has been enduring great pain for a long, long time.
Ann and I made a flying visit to Charleston, SC this past week. A lot of things did not go to plan — but we did get to see Gordon20024 (Archie) and The Marti for a little while on Friday.
